PRIVATE GP CONSULTATIONS FOR TESTICULAR SYMPTOMS IN DUBLIN
Noticing a change in your testicles can be worrying, and it is normal to feel unsure about what to do. At Nassau Clinic in Dublin, we offer private GP consultations for men experiencing testicular symptoms. Most changes are not serious, but early assessment is important for your peace of mind and health.
If you notice any change in your scrotum, it is always best to book an appointment with a GP. Not every problem shows up as a lump. Signs such as swelling, a change in shape or texture, or a difference between the two testicles in how they look or feel should all be checked. At your consultation, Dr Regan will listen to your concerns, carry out a careful examination, and explain the next steps.
Nassau clinic is open on Thursday evenings and at weekends, with appointments from 7 o’clock on Saturday and Sunday mornings. If needed, Dr Regan can arrange a prompt referral to a specialist or testing service.
WHY EARLY GP CONSULTATION MATTERS
Testicular symptoms can have different causes. Some problems, such as infections, are not serious, while others, including testicular cancer, require prompt attention. It is important to see a GP as soon as you notice any changes in your testicles or scrotum. You do not need to wait for pain or a lump to appear.
Look out for symptoms such as swelling, a change in shape or texture, discomfort, heaviness, or any difference between the two testicles in how they feel or look. Even small or subtle changes should be checked. Seeing Dr. Regan early means your symptoms can be assessed quickly, helping you get the right treatment faster and giving you peace of mind.
DID YOU KNOW?
Testicular cancer affects about 170 men in Ireland each year. It is the most common cancer diagnosed in young men aged between 15 and 34 years.

Q1. Do you do scans or blood tests at Nassau Clinic?
We do not carry out scans on site, but if needed, Dr Regan will refer you quickly to the right specialist or testing service for these. However, blood tests can be arranged and done at the clinic when appropriate.
Q2. What if I have sudden, severe testicular pain?
If your pain is sudden and severe, you should go straight to the Emergency Department (ED) of your nearest hospital.
Q3. I found a lump in my testicle. Can I wait to see if it goes away?
It is important not to wait if you find a lump. You should see a GP as soon as possible for a proper check. Early assessment helps to find the cause and gives you the best chance of effective treatment if needed.
Q4. What happens if the doctor thinks I may have testicular cancer?
Several tests can help confirm a diagnosis of testicular cancer. Most often, an ultrasound of the scrotum is recommended to check the size and nature of any lump. Blood tests for tumour markers may also be suggested. In some cases, a biopsy may be needed. Dr Regan will make sure you are referred promptly to the appropriate specialist or service for any further tests.
Q5. How quickly can I get a referral to a specialist?
Referrals to specialists are made as soon as we finish your consultation if needed. We aim to ensure you get appointments and tests without delay.
